Native Wildlife on Magnetic Island


Bush Stone Curlew - iconic bird of Magnetic Island - known for their eerie night-time serenades.	Beach Stone Curlew - an endangeres species, cousin to the bush curlew - is occasionally seen on the island.

Echidnas - also known as Spiny ant-eaters - are common on the island. They are monotremes; egg laying mammals, like the platypus. Yes, they eat ants.	Always a delightful sight - a koala out for a stroll.
